Birthday Special: Things You Should Know About Kajal Aggarwal
The 32-year-old actress, who made her entry into films with the Vivek Oberoi starrer, “Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na”, has grown rapidly to become an A-list actress in the Tamil and Telugu industries. With her charming looks and hot bod, Kajal is much in demand for glamorous roles in big ticket films.

Kajal Aggarwal’s first film was “Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na” in which she had a supporting role. She then moved to Tollywood where she appeared first in “Lakshmi Kalyanam” and then “Chandamama” which brought her into the limelight and also earned her critical acclaim.
Kajal’s big break in Tollywood was through the period piece “Magadheera”, starring Ram Charan Teja. Kajal played dual roles in the big-budget project by SS Rajamouli which went on to become a blockbuster. Soon, the actress was among the A-list heroines in the Telugu industry, a position she has continued to keep.
In Kollywood, Kajal’s early films were “Pazhani”, “Bommalattam” and “Saroja”, none of which did much for her career. In 2010, she was cast as leading lady in the Karthi-starrer “Naan Mahaan Alla” and that marked her arrival as a top heroine in the Tamil industry as well.
In Telugu, Kajal continued to enjoy success in films such as Prabhas starrers “Darling” and “Mr Perfect”. “Brindaavanam” won her a best actress award.
In 2011, Kajal returned to Bollywood in the cop story “Singham” starring Ajay Devgn in the title role. It was a hero-centric film, but Kajal got noticed for her performance.
In fact, Kajal wasn’t at all deterred by the fact that many of the South films were hero-centric. In Mahesh Babu’s 2012 film “Businessman”, too, she had a limited role, but rode the success wave, thanks to the film becoming a super hit.
In 2012 Kajal had another big hit in “Thuppakki”, in which she played Vijay’s romantic interest. The Diwali release was the first Kollywood film to enter the Rs 100 crore-club.
Kajal also starred in Suriya’s Diwali 2012 release “Maattrran”. The film didn’t fare as expected, but Kajal’s star status was intact.
Kajal had a great run in 2013, especially in Tollywood. She featured in “Naayak”, alongside Ram Charan Teja and Amala Paul, and the film was a box-office hit. She was also NTR Jr’s heroine in the commercially successful “Baadshah” and strengthened her position as a glamorous A-list actress.
In 2013, Kajal starred in “Special 26” with Akshay Kumar, adding another commercial Bollywood hit to her kitty.
