This Bengal beauty was born in 21st March, 1978 .Her father Ram Rani Mukerji was a film director, her mother Krishna Mukherjee was a playback singer , her elder brother Rani Mukerji is producer and director but most of the people knows her when she comes in Bollywood industry as cousin of another Bollywood diva Kajol.

If we take a look on her acting career she have done tremendous role through which she got fame and make place in many hearts of her fans. She started her career in 1997 film “Raja Ki Aayegi Barat” .Although that film didn’t get success but her role as rape victim was praised and at the Annual Screen Awards function she won a “special recognition award”. After that she got a role in Vikram Bhatts movie “Ghulam” in 1998 in opposite of Aamir Khan. That film goes average but the song “Aati Kya Khandala” was biggest hit and is still identical song of Rani Mukherji as well as for Aamir Khan as he sung that song first time ever in his own voice.

But the biggest breakthrough for Rani Mukerji was Karan Johar’s debut directional film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”. Rani Mukherji won many hearts in this film. Although this blockbuster of Bollywood film was in pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol but Rani Mukerji grabbed everyone’s eye in this movie. Film won eight “Film fare Awards” including award for Rani as “Best Supporting Actress”. After this blockbuster she caste in so many films like Badal, Bichhoo, Mehndi, Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaaye, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Mujh se Doosti Karogi, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai and Nayak: The Real Hero  but none of them got biggest success and went failure or average with mix remarks from film critics.

Rani Mukherji’s career turned towards success when she did romantic film “Saathiya”.In this movie her expressions and acting was understated in a role that fits her like a glove. Rani looked perfect, seemed that character is just made for Rani. Mukherji. She won “Film fare Critics Award for Best Actress”.  Year 2004 was real year of success for Rani Mukherji. Rani ascends the ladder of success one after one by doing work in “Chalte Chalte”.

Although this movie resembled to Saathiya but with more mature and deeper form of love and Mukherji got second Best Actress nomination for this film. In 2005 Rani Mukherji won both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards for the film “Yuva (2004)” at 50th Film fare Awards. In 2004 she gave biggest commercially successes film “Hum Tum” against Saif Ali Khan She also won “Best Actress Award” for her romantic comedy film “Hum Tum”. Rani started giving hit after hit as “Veer-Zara” (Rani won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the IIFA Awards ceremony, and received a nomination in the same category at Film fare), “Bunty Aur Bubli” (Rani Mukerji received a second Best Actress nomination at Film fare).

Rani Mukherji than performed bestest role of her life by doing challenging role of a blind, dumb and deaf girl in opposite of Amitabh Bachan. For doing this role perfectly she studied sign language at the Helen Keller Institute in Mumbai. Her work was incredible and she succesed to put her work in “80 Most Iconic performances” of Indian Cinema by Film fare. Rani got Best Actress and Best Actress Critics Awards at Film fare Awards. She got appreciation by doing her performance in “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna”, “Laga Chunri mai Dagh” and recently in “Talaash”.
