Vidya Balan recently revealed that there was a time in her life when she hated and was angry with her body to the core. While speaking to Hindustan Times, Vidya said, “(There was) a part of my life, where I was battling with my body. I was angry with it, hated it, and I wanted it to change, because I thought if my body changed, I would be acceptable to everyone and I would be worthy of love.
But even at my thinnest, when I managed to lose a lot of weight (it happened a few times) I realised that I wasn’t fully acceptable to everyone. So really, there’s no point in trying to change yourself to suit others’ needs and ideals.”
However Vidya has now attained the ultimate Zen phase where she doesn’t need anyone’s approval to feel beautiful or accepted. “I began to accept and respect my body, and it’s been a long journey. Now, I find myself happier, I feel beautiful. I think that’s the best gift I have given to myself. I won’t let anyone make me feel differently about my body today,” said Vidya.
On the work front, Vidya was last seen in Telgu film N.T.R: Mahanayakudu. The actress will be next seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal and Tamil film Nerkonda Paarvai.
