And with this, the Kangana starrer will be the first film of 2015 to become the part of the elite Rs 100 crore club.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the domestic box office figures a while back. He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, “#TanuWedsManuReturns has a SOLID Weekend 2: Fri 6.65 cr, Sat 9.40 cr, Sun 12.25 cr. Grand total – 98.37 cr. India biz. Box office india report

The trade portal reported, “The film has also become the highest grossing film of 2015 after its second weekend with business of around 97.50 crore nett. The 100 crore nett mark will hit on Monday. The film is on a phenomenal run on North India while other parts are excellent. The only disappointment is the Gujarat / Saurashtra belt which is not performing as well as it should be.”

Before Tanu Weds Manu Returns hit the screens, it was Akshay Kumar’s action flick Gabbar Is Back which was highest grossing film of this year. But now its Kangana and R Madhavan’s film which is dominating the box office!
