This evening, Krishna Mehta showcased her Winter/Festive 2015 Bridal Couture Collection, “The Gold and the Ganges” for the first time after a long hiatus at Lakme Fashion Week, sponsored by Omtex.

The collection titled “The Gold and The Ganges” transported you to a tranquil oasis, inspired by the serene surroundings of the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, Morocco.

With the use of muted and pastel tones and hues of pinks, yellows and soft greens, the intricate embroideries such as gota and zardozi provided a refreshing burst to each of the traditional silhouettes.

Staying true to her ethos, the collection remained timeless and graceful with a contemporary touch of western elegance.
Unusual techniques such as layering of fabrics to create 3-D flowers, hand painted panels and detailed tassels, offered a new lease of life to the traditional silhouettes.
