CREATIVE DESIGN AND STYLE CAME TOGETHER IN DRASHTA SAVAIYA’S UTTERLY FEMININE LINE FOR THE COMING SEASON
Drashta Sarvaiya moved slightly into Autumn/Winter 2012 for her Lakmé Fashion Week collection as she played with deep shades of stark black, the darkest of blue and heady wine, for a muted feminine collection. But her colour story did not halt with the striking trio of shades, as she added more tones like ecru, old rose, red, subtle mustard and electrifying royal purple to complete the romantic mood.
Silhouettes were striking, clinging to the female form; while the metallic embellishments twinkled under the ramp lights. With a perfect fabric choice to give the fluid sensuous look to her collection, Drashta looked at choicest chiffon, Duchess satin, Raffia fabrics and slinky crepe de chine.
Opening the show with an ecru silk cape and cigarette pants, Drashta revealed a will-power dress in black and ecru colour blocking, then one with pleated front and then a stunning “X” silhouette for tops. Inverted seams were the unconventional detailing for sheaths and long sleeved cropped lace jackets. Slashed sleeves for tunics and a grey coat dress in ribbed silver weave worked well as cocktail wear. The mustard textured weave with a faint shimmer was turned into a short jacket and a stylish suit. Cinched waists were accentuated with gold braids while jumpsuits glittered with embroidered shoulders. Lace was used for long sleeved gowns and sheath dresses with the silhouette turning sheer and sexy and kept close to the body at all times.
For glitz, glamour and elegance, Drashta Sarvaiya moved into top creative gear for her creations which will appeal to fashionistas around the globe.
