From her horror comedy to a thriller to a true life story to a love story to Bollywood remake – she is doing a little bit of everything. Gajaranai, is the Tamil remake of NH10, there is her Malayalam debut with Nivin Pauly – Hey Jude, a love story about love, acceptance, self discovery and transformation. She has another light hearted entertainer with Vijay Sethupathi – 96.
After 14 years in the industry, one would think a veteran actress liek Nayanthara would atke it slow but she is on fast gear mode, taking on women centric projects one after the other. Each of them feature her in a unique role that fans haven’t seen her in before. Biggest example is Arram where she plays a district collector who looks into the civic problems of a jurisdiction. Her no-nonsense de-glam avatar won her praises, Then she has another film with Eros international where she plays a journalist in search of her identity. Dora, her next venture in a horror movie all set to release on March 31. The story also stars a haunted car. She will also be seen opposite SivaKarthikeyan in his next movie with Mohan Raj. Velaikkaran is the name. Interestingly, all her projects have her take on powerful roles with sole focus on the actress. The Queen continues to rule.
After a fantastic 2016, the actress is venturing down new paths, collaborating with new actors this year. Her film with Thiagarajan has already created a stir, courtesy its unusual posters. She also has a film with Irumbu Thirai with Vishal. She is teaming up with Ilayathalapathy and Atlee again for Vijay 61. Then there’s another promising film with Sukumar opposite Ram Charan. Reports also suggest, she will also play a pivotal role in Savithri’s biopic. She is also debuting in the horror genre with Raju Gari Gadhi 2.
