There are two reasons this faded French tip is a mani must: 1. It’s bright and will instantly make you happy. 2. It’s fool-proof. Julie Kandelic, creative director of Paint Box Nail Salon, shows you how to get this look in just two easy steps.1. Prep and Paint. File your nails into the desired shape, push back your cuticles — Do Not CUT Them! — and apply a basecoat, such as Essie Grow Stronger. Then, paint your nails with two coats of a bubblegum pink, like Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in “May.”2. Create the French Tip. Drop a few beads of orange polish onto a small piece of foil. Next, cut a makeup sponge into a triangle (so you can use all three sides as you paint your nails), and dip one of the edges of the sponge into the orange lacquer. Then, pat the sponge along the tip of the nail in a crescent shape, creating the French tip. Don’t worry if it isn’t perfect; that’s the point of the faded look. It’s not supposed to be ombré, but it isn’t supposed to be pristine either. Finish with a layer of topcoat of your choice on each nail.
